War

War

A Poem by Samuel H. Ludke

Ride to save yourself from it,
You've been hit, thrown and bit.
Go forth to victory for your men,
Go forth and ride for your children.
Those b******s stole much from us,
We'll cut them down while we cuss.
We fight today to live again,
We fight today for our children.
Draw your weapons, run advance!
Those poor souls don't stand a chance!
Strike them down for glory,
Strike them down so you can tell your story!
War is hell and war is pain,
What on Earth is our country to gain?
We march today into battle,
To save our land with the cattle.
There they are, make haste!
We don't have a moment to waste.
Wipe the blood from your eyes,
Only a true coward cries.
If you fall upon the field,
I brother, will truly yield,
I will set you on your feet,
We run through the rain and sleet.
Ride for our future boys!
Your children at home play with their toys!
