Yonder Blessed River

Yonder Blessed River

A Poem by Samuel H. Ludke

Rushing, gushing through the hills,
Splitting through the mountains,
The River of Heaven gives you chills.
Sit by yonder blessed shore,
Sitting there is no chore.
When you see me wading there,
I left my cares upon the shore.
I swim beneath the waves of yore,
I swim for eternity beyond the shore.
Soil attached to my feet so bare,
For here shoes you do not wear.
If you want to stay,
I'll take you there, I'll lead the way.
