Purgatory

Purgatory

A Poem by Samuel H. Ludke

Walk with me,
I hope I can help you see.
I walk with you to keep your soul,
I walk with you to keep forgive your sin,
I walk with you to ease your kin.
When you passed in great pain you were,
Now that you're here you can be sure,
I walk to make you truly pure.
You leave the Earth, know your mortal shell is there,
Now your immortal soul experiences no wear.
As we walk along, your life's passes by,
Don't worry, I will always stand nearby.
You can't escape your permanent fate,
The Lord has chosen this specific date.
We can't choose when we go,
Only the Lord can truly know.
Keep walking to that holy mountain,
Bathe in the Lord's eternal fountain.
The blood of the lamb is what frees the chosen,
Unbelievers stand shocked, frozen.
I guard the weak and the lost,
Now you know the ultimate cost.
Keep moving as we watch daylight thin,
Very few souls get to say that they win,
If you believe in the good book,
You can push away Satan's worm on a hook.
