Carnival

Carnival

A Poem by Samuel H. Ludke

With gladness I welcome you here,
I say so that all may hear.

With tidings of joy and happiness abounding,
I tell you that life is truly astounding.

Come with me and jump all around,
Bring your friends and your dog, a hound!

Truth is I've just begun to sing,
Hear those olden bells ring!

Cast off your sadness and all you fear,
It's not wise to shed a tear.

Run until you can't no longer,
Run until you're feeling stronger.

You'll be here long into the night,
And that is really quite all right.
