World

World

A Poem by Samuel H. Ludke

Why do you cry today?
I promise all will be okay.
When you are glad it warms my heart,
Waking each day you find a new start.
I had hoped you would find me here,
Here by the flame, here by the fire.
The warmth it truly spreads,
It drives away the night dreads.
The lonely nights are all but gone now,
Hear the distant cooing,
Look at all we've been doing!
This world is great and peaceful,
For this world we must be thankful.
We won't be here for all time,
The Death Bell for us all will chime.
I am not afraid, I am prepared,
For many I feel, thier souls will not be spared.
