Honest Truth

Honest Truth

A Poem by Samuel H. Ludke

I'll fly through the open blue sky,
You know you can't stop me when I try.
I'm going to be giving my all,
through the spring and the fall.
You can stop me when I'm on a roll,
Watch me while I try to take control.
My head is in the clouds so white,
Gun control, we're all fighting for the right,
To hold or conceal the weapon, God it's crazy.
Black men getting stopped for nothing, man it's hazy.
If I were to die, if I were to leave you here,
You be alone on the ship, here try to steer!
I don't even care about how you feel,
I'd be better off under the Lord's heel.
My sins are great, there's way to many,
Don't you judge me, acting like you don't have any.
The lies you spitting, just like trash, it's uncanny.
You can't stop a king,
Bow down and kiss my diamond ring.
Feel my words burn and sting,
You didn't pick up the phone, let it ring.
I know you want to know how I feel, hear me sing.
If you can't handle that I'm doing well,
Maybe you shouldn't have kissed to tell.
Don't act like you didn't see this coming,
All those who doubted are now running.
I should be dead right now,
I survived my birth, I really don't know how.
Now I'm here speaking the truth,
You can't handle my flow, screaming wow.
I shouldn't have to explain to you what this is,
This is me getting mad, this is a diss.
I'm not sure what the future holds,
Probably children with the common colds.
All I want is to be a daddy, giving all my love to my future wife,
Gotta fix my heart, gotta fix my life.
For now, I'll keep on rolling,
Watch my style, it's alive and holding.
I can't breathe when I see her face,
Men tripping over, it's a crazy race.
I want to wake up next to her,
Before you know it, life will be a blur.
Soon I'll be just a legend,
My legacy will never be questioned.
