Burning

Burning

A Poem by Samuel H. Ludke

A fire burns,
The world unaware turns,
With light aplenty it does abide,
The fire is always by our side.
The fire burns with bright passion,
you back away with apprehension.
You cannot escape, nobody can,
the infinite battle has began.
Fire burning, fire bright,
please remain out of sight.
For if we see you, we should die.
then you'll follow us where we lie.
I will leave you be, yes I will,
I will remain forever still.
I know you watch and that is fine,
I will be here on the front line.
