![]() Night FrightsA Poem by Samuel H. LudkeWaking up drenched in sweat, you wonder where your wife had went. To find the outhouse she did go, but that had been so long ago. Shivering cold she must be now, she left her jacket, you don't know how. The door swing open now back and forth, to find your wife, you must prove your worth. Go out now and don't come back, grab the axe and be prepared to whack. The darkness you feel should not stir, oh man you must find her. You walk quickly to the door, don't forget underwear from the drawer. The bitter wind bites your face, take the flashlight just in case. You see nothing, you barely move, but your heart has something to prove. You walk to a large tree, oh why, what a sight to see. Your wife is there, she sits on the ground, kissing a creature, just like a hound. The creature turns and bares it's teeth, your feet slip out from underneath. A horrid laugh escapes from the couples jaws, it appears your wife thought you had flaws. She's leaving with the creature, she's left with him, hold on, his name is Jim! You know that man, you swear to yourself, your wife prefers the werewolf. Let this be a lesson, a lesson to him, we'll use the axe and kill poor Jim.
