Blood- curling

Blood- curling

A Poem by Samuel H. Ludke

Rushing down the halls you hear,
a creature in the darkness drawing near.
There is a sense of urgency now,
you stumble and fall like a mad cow.
The hall way winds and winds,
look out, you pulled down the blinds.
You're mind it seems is in a rush,
that's when you hear the creature shush.
Stopping dead in your tracks,
sweat pours through all the cracks.
You hear the footsteps pounding,
the stress is truly compounding.
Then the scream echoes through the air,
while a demon appears to be fair.
It  steps toward you beckoning you to stay,
my, what will you say.
