hawk

hawk

A Poem by Samantha Tamburello

you said you wanted to be a hawk in your next life.

the beauty in the way they just glide.

spent your life gliding on by

through the years,

perhaps not gracefully enough.

but perhaps it was inside of you all along

kept a watchful glance over us all,

making a grand appearance when you could.

you tell me your time to depart will be soon

but i know i’ll recognize you above the treetops.
