Evolving SocietyA Poem by Samantha TamburelloJust because I find it hard to believe how times change. I do believe I'm an old soul born in the wrong generation and I don't understand people anymore. Such complicated creatures. We play music because we fear silence. Silence, the point in time when every stressor of life is pondered. Stressor, because nothing can ever be easy. Nothing, we all claim it and don't count our blessings. Blessings, not even thought of on Thanksgiving anymore. Thanksgiving, connected to nothing but food. Food, used to fill the emptiness of those with broken hearts. Hearts, played with and thrown down like a child's toys. Toys, our children play with technology instead of using their imagination. Technology, we invented it to better communicate, but only sheltered ourselves. Shelter, the place we often hide and hate to leave. Hate, a word thrown around almost as much as "love". Love, the thing we say we feel to hide what we really feel. Hide, nobody is ever 100% open with who they are. Open, the door which we can leave at any second yet choose to suffer. Suffer, one of the top things we don't know how to vocalize. Vocalize, something we take for granted that enhances our lives. Life, if you get caught up in it, you are the problem with our evolving society.
