Perspective of Time

Perspective of Time

A Poem by AJ
"

I was thinking of car rides in California.

"
Time
As a child, I always had too much time
Everything took too long
I thought it would never end
But now as I look back
I realize it has ended
And so will this
At first time is like rocks slipping through your fingers
then dirt
then sand
the water
then air
Then Death
And the only way for it to stop moving
Is to die
Oh how perspectives change
As a child I wanted to be an adult
as an adult
I want to be a Child

Author's Note

AJ
I wish I had listened when people said it would all end eventually, and I should enjoy childhood while I could. I haven't wanted to grow up or be an adult since I was eight.

Yep, totally get this. Sometimes feels like we move from crawl to walk to jog to run sprint to run to jog to walk to crawl. Nicely done
