Broken smile

Watching cars go by 

A million thoughts go through my mind 

With a grim look on my face 

Tears threaten to come 
I blink to hold them back 
Sometimes 
Time goes by so slowly 
Knowing each day 
Nothing can make me smile 
Wondering why I bother 
Feeling so down 
No one knows 
What I’m feeling 
All they see is the broken smile 
I put on my face 
I try so hard to continue 
This masquerade 
Waking each day 
To a life I regret 
All I can think 
Is why my tears try 
So hard to fall on my face 
My painful sobs I try to hide 
Hurting so much 
I never new 
How the shards of my pain 
Could cut so deeply 
Running away from the darkness 
Behind me 
Having no hope 
At all 
Becoming something 
I promised myself 
I never be 
Emotionless

This is a great piece because I can relate to every single word that was written. Smiles are easy to form, but underneath you can't see what people are feeling. Even if I smile and laugh deep inside something is hurting me...and no one can ever see it. This poem ends on a strong note..but it is sad to be emotionless. Thanks for sharing.
