I Know How To Pray

I Know How To Pray

A Poem by Sammie Camp
"

Something I wrote once after I got kicked out of my house once.

"
I'm not a religious person,
but I know how to pray.
But it's only for something important,
to help me out of my state of grey.
To pull me along through these days,
as I sit back, watching my life wash away.
I only pray in times of crisis,
for other children who could use this.
For the world to shape up,
and for times that are fucked up.
I pray for my mother,
for newly acquainted brother.
Are there any others?
And for my five closest friends,
I pray that we never end.
To truths that may twist and bend.
I pray for those who seem they just can't.
And for those too afraid to stand.
Sometimes I pray for my enemies,
sometimes hoping we can be frenemies.
I pray to past additive tendencies.
And for those in the Connecticut residency.
But like I said,
I don't have a religious head.
So why would "God" hear ME instead?
Maybe one day he will... most likely when I'm dead.
But oh well, my last pray goes out to the people who could use a kind bed.
