Bonds are stronger than you think

In order for blood to flow

Sometimes it has to boil

They say a knife

No matter how glaring

Or even how sharp

Cannot sever a bond

Despite the craters

The drifts in the land

Or even the scarlet scars

We are bound together

The pain we feel

The emerald that covers our sight

The poison on the blade

It's all superficial

Look past threats

Promises of departure

And you'll see

We are one

I totally agree with your notes on this one my dear young and wise friend. There is nothing that will separate us from a bond that has been forged well.
I really liked the metaphors in this piece, especially of the poison on the blade. Unless it slashes us, we will not feel it..
