Eden of Grey

I really want to leave where I am, and find something to make everything worth it.

I am critisized for my judgement
For the values that lay my ground
As written by the degree of my heart
I am given hope decieved from my mind
Hope that is nowhere to be found when needed
When all thats left in it's wake is simply my own comfort
I am alone all because others will not understand
That I chose the netrality and ambiguity of grey
When others around chose either black or white
I am shown Eden as I am left grasping ash
Remnats of simply what was
False promises of what will be
My desiring flame burns now and weathers the storm
It calls for the world around me to be grey
People around will shun the idea with fear
Fear of something that they fail to even understand
But I sleep and dream every night
Hoping that for all that I am
I will find a grey Eden

I liked the metaphors you have used in this poem Samm, and the allusion of Eden. That perpetual desire to be somewhere where we can be the best of who we are, understood and completed. I pray for your wishes to come true :D

Grey seems to me a symbol of acceptance- no extremism. I really enjoyed the poem.
