Fog Runner

Something that I came up with in class today. Nothing special, but just something that captures how I've been feeling about my life in the town I live in.

I look out into my world and I see fog

Ambition and determination is nowhere to be seen

Dreams are cast off and lost

You can try to chase after

You can try to break free

But water will blanket your soul

The earthy air will hold you down and pull you back

And before you know it, it's like you never even left

I tend to think of what lies beyond 

Of crisp air, beautiful rolling sights

And the warmest light you can think of

One day I will give chase

And maybe I'll make it

Then they can talk about the boy who outran the fog

The boy basking in the light

This is my first piece of writing for this website, so please do not completely rip me apart. However, feel free to leave some criticism and thoughts on it.

I really liked your first poem Samm. My favorite line was: But water will blanket your soul.
I liked what you did playing with light and dark concept and freedom within. You have a very creative mind!! Keep it up. I will be looking forward to reading more of yours. :D
