YouA Poem by Sami
When you talk, I imagine
The hook end of a wire Clothes hanger piercing The tender skin behind my knees. The blunt metal pushing until My skin absorbs it, suddenly. In the root ball of my body You are there, pressing thumbs On either side of an important Valve. My tongue is raw With you. Some distant god Counts my patience like pennies Only to be disappointed at the sum. Your stilted voice charms them Out of their chairs, while I Remain seated, for the pain Behind my knees. © 2008 SamiReviews
