English sonnet…Little romance Never is a howler, joyful at night Calm as starlight, twining two together Cradling up by careened warm candlelight Batting away those sparks, beyond measure. What hums through hollow rooms echo across Undulated utterances bursting forth Sermonize no more when lovers crisscross Rebellion ignited like “July Fourth.” Twisting neon is no match to the flares Fireworks that glitter in ink and blood Not to shine is of man’s saddest affairs Pertinacious are those who bloom and bud. As light speaks of color, love speaks of aromas While music holds the notes slipping through
commas. © 2025 Sami KhalilReviews
