History is now    Sami Khalil
An English sonnet

The die is cast for there is no return
Caesar crossed the Rubicon eyeing the sun
As Washington lighted when wars did churn
The coming of age and victories won.

Hence history in cowardice not made
So fondly some greats must retain their names
The timid knows how defeat is long purveyed
Carrying loads untold of fires' flames.

Seize the day man and do earn your wage
Between the willows are callings for tears
Influx of fortunes and characters' gauge
The witching hours scowling great fears.

History is now in the spun egos
Dancing alone to the tune of credos.

This poem portends that we can all make history now by speech or action taken.
Many things came from turning points like Caesar crossing the Rubicon, Washington crossing the Delaware.
Find your turning point in a way.

There are those who sacrificed to save a country, but there are also so many lives lost because someone has to be a Napoleon and conquer just for the sake of being top dog.
Really creative sonnet....

I do believe so dear poet and friend. You have summed it up marvelously. Thank you so much for you.. read more
There are turning points in history that changed many things in the world; those brave men were courageous and took those steps, sacrifices for a greater cause.
History can be made now too for each and every one of us.
Speak up, take a chance, sacrifice for others. We can all make history.
