![]() History is nowA Poem by Sami Khalil![]() An English sonnet.![]() History is now Sami Khalil An English sonnet The die is cast for there is no return Caesar crossed the Rubicon eyeing the sun As Washington lighted when wars did churn The coming of age and victories won. Hence history in cowardice not made So fondly some greats must retain their names The timid knows how defeat is long purveyed Carrying loads untold of fires' flames. Seize the day man and do earn your wage Between the willows are callings for tears Influx of fortunes and characters' gauge The witching hours scowling great fears. History is now in the spun egos Dancing alone to the tune of credos.
