Love BirdsA Poem by Sami KhalilAn English sonnet...Love Birds by
Sami Khalil An English sonnet… Dismal are the days of wither and wilt When you bloom like a blazing petalled rose A true eye candy sweet, a sun-kissed guilt Undressing love, breathing life in lore’s throes. As I bare my soul, contrast to known fear While you sit silent by, holding your breath We feel the quiet burden lifted near Hanging over bleary eyes and fire’s death. We are two birds flying in painted skies Set to flight through night dreams and reveries Where we abide in Nature’s finest drives Fiddling with things, beholding memories. Darling! I cherish that whispered answer Both joy and pain and the pouring laughter. © 2024 Sami KhalilReviews
