If the shoe fits...

If the shoe fits...

A Poem by Sami Khalil

If the shoe fits…            by Sami Khalil

Most of us walking is somehow dotty

Living in lies, let alone urban myths

A betting on dreams, surely naughty

Closer passionate love, further blacksmiths.

A sense of pride prevails, grabbing hightide

Well worth the wait before sunset’s glory

Looks like long heatwaves, all joking aside

Bewildering ‘Heaven’ with flair and story.

Many grapples with building their own brand

Appealing the appalling then regrets

Childish fumbling of redundant strand

I pity the fools who wanly lost bets.

Most of us waking seem distressed, pallid

Lacking vigour, drably sick, invalid.

Many "P's", many things to think about when entering heaven's gates...
Redundant overtures of pride usually highlight manmade myth.
I walk, pallid, invalid...
Yet my vigor feels restored as I grapple with the loss of acceptance my childish path has set.
A whirlwind of idea, a flair for the eloquent.

Gracie millee ..
This makes me think of those who chase dreams and don’t care what the cost is, who the hurt or destroy along the way. All they truly are after is the money that will line their pocket.

Gracie millee......
Surely we have choices. We can choose a book from a shelf, we can venture out and about, we can love or hate the sea, etc. We can choose a god or the God... and do so via heartfelt choice or perhaps need, or the continuity of birth, background, culture. As long as belief in one's faith is felt from one's core but not of hatred or contempt. From what has been given at birth, is a guide, is a statement of affirmation in GOODNESS TO ALL. In most if not all books based on faith the Christian quote, 'Do unto others.. is said as being part of love, tolerance and respect. They are or should be the bandages of life among Humankind. Surely?
I think, not sure, that you are saying the following in the same train of thought.. not absolutely sure, correct me if not, Sami,

'A sense of pride prevails, grabbing hightide
Well worth the wait before sunset’s glory
Looks like long heatwaves, all joking aside
Bewildering ‘Heaven’ with flair and story.'

Tell me what I need to understand, please

Wowzy woooo. Thank you kindly.
Religion has lost its potency these days as we learn more and more through science these days. And the voyager that’s been out there beyond our solar system for decades hasn't seen one airbus of souls heaven bound. Funny about that and no angels flying by either. Maybe angels want more pay and are on strike, they seem to be as rare as sighting mermaids. Fake news was so bad back then. A fine write Sami.

Never believed in hell. Always thought it unecessarily cruel. I mean, everlasting torment? For the same reasons I think your heaven is what you make it.
This is a wonderful poem of conjecture and faith, belief and understanding from an excellent poet. And as I understand it don't you have to remove your shoes to enter any holy place whatever your faith?

will it be heaven or hell? the moment of reckoning - facing up as we slide our feet in. careful with brands as can be counterfeit. which paths did we choose at the forks in the road? let's hope it's not one size fits all.
