The silent ones

The silent ones

A Poem by Sami Khalil
"

Just thoughts... For all martyrs who died for noble causes.

"

The silent ones        by Sami Khalil

And with you gone from the city landscapes

Your bare shoulders tide in, tide out the grounds

Dreams that have been stunted from birth their shapes

Hold promises of new spring… on stage, in towns.

There is nothing but shards of memories

Thoughts swarming under the merciless heat

Pettish slumber unfolding reveries

Into midnights, sauntering forth off beat.

Can we skillfully edit the once past?

The silent ones gone mindfully hapless

Truth is fading to jostling pallors fast

Lest we forget math when lies are matchless.

And with you gone into endless sunsets

Your commenced acts prevail enemies’ threats.

The shadow of the memory we leave follow us even into the after life. My grandmother told us to look for her in the sunset. What memory will choose. High-craft on display here, Sami:)

The world and its population plays evil games, always has: those games can decimate reality, leaving only detritus behind because that's its intent. Your finely set sonnet is superb and in that form creates a testament to those battling to put right high, high above Mankind's ever present intentional inhumanity. 'Truth is fading to jostling pallors fast - Lest we forget math when lies are matchless.'

WOW, this is really good.
I often worry about the silent ones and what they see or what they have heard.
I often think all of us have that kind of voice off and on, where it is better that way.
When others' tears show or an emotional state, it's heartbreaking.
Nicely emotional written piece
