I Feel

I Feel

A Poem by Sami Khalil
"

Just thoughts...

"
I Feel         by Sami Khalil
I feel drifty like a piffling driftwood
Something to ponder with my seas of thought
Must be my fickle mind, not as it should
The world as I see it makes me distraught.

I feel frigid, yawning across cold eyes
From snowy peaks to dry desert inclines
Must be the camel rides or frozen ice
The need for sheltered space weighed by death signs.

I feel lackluster, paying homage to bricks
Marking selfies chanced upon an atlas
Shadowed in ragged charms of wrathful tricks
Bartering stones for chipper sun touched cuss.

I feel like a faucet trickling carnage
Down nurtured lies, fields of vapid garbage.

Howdy do! Thank you kindly for sharing your thoughts and experiences with us. Glad to see you.
That's more feeling than I can muster these days. I think there's a tendency towards social-emotional neuropathy for self-preservation sake more often than not. Loved the descriptions in this brilliantly painted portrait of despair.

This reminds me of someone living in an extremely pour city/country or someone stuck in a war torn place. The mind is distraught and in chaos from all the destruction and death around

Wow! That is wonderful.
a ripe write. vapid. geopolitics and war is really weighing on you. war is a sick endeavor and as well should make us feel sick. to 'feel' is to be alive, care and have a conscience. more such thoughts should spill from more of us.

my goal is to be objective when im on here, but some of these comments.... anyway, this is among my favorites you have written. i could be way off here but over noticing everything and it going straight to fatigue or bombarding the subconscious... i deal with this constantly. what always helps are patterns... this probably makes no sense. if anyone accuses you of being oversensitive they are wrong. they just dont grasp the depth of precise thought.

Your poetry transports a reader into another world, need or mood, Sami. Here with your words slowly moving down into the blues, I wonder how you might feel tomorrow or soon? Perhaps your mood might have altered, your thoughts brighter.

'I feel lackluster, paying homage to bricks
Marking selfies chanced upon an atlas
Shadowed in ragged charms of wrathful tricks
Bartering stones for chipper sun touched cuss.'

Perhaps that shows a hardness crushing your feelings, perhaps hiding what you don't want to share or acknowledge. Your thoughts cover such a dense carpet of language, sir.

some thoughts that I have had recently are contained within this sonnet.
You are one of the few poets who can produce rhyme that sings smoothly and subtly...rather than
having the rhyming words jump into our face with "Look, I rhyme with the line before or look at my AB AB AB...
Shakespeare would read you and want to get together for tea and a chat.
