High CostA Poem by Sami KhalilHigh Cost by
Sami Khalil I lost my train of thoughts so many times They come like fireflies dancing and glowing I can’t quite wrap my head around what chimes Beguiling speech or love words echoing. Things are not like they used to be that rhyme They feel tragic, not in good harmony Some grow cold to fires, shown in their prime Finding release in status and money. Let me testify what I can’t deny Love can signify worth and brighter days Procuring a lifeline, a rich supply Before casting stones, try its gentle ways. Like a ship in raging storms, we are lost Those who find joy care less for the high cost. © 2024 Sami KhalilReviews
