Zest for LifeA Poem by Sami KhalilZest for Life
by
Sami Khalil Tell me what is real from this
illusion Tumbling of days or the spiraling
dreams The rooted nothingness of confusion Or the marching seasons, bursting
through seams. Things come to life then die in misery Out of fortune, out of love’s shifting
sands Mere words, adding insult to injury Embalming wounds, banishing ifs and
ands. Many doubts linger under looming
clouds Tip-toing through wars and rumors
thereof Life once cherished has lost many cheered
crowds Farther unmindful cries of mourning
dove. Tell me things of value we can all
share Winds that lift and vows which
solemnly swear. © 2024 Sami KhalilReviews
