Low Hanging Fruit

Low Hanging Fruit

A Poem by Sami Khalil

Low Hanging Fruit      by Sami Khalil

Thoughts on failure and success in relationships.

There is deafness in the air that lingers

Calling out things left between us unsaid

Paying no mind to me, pointing fingers

Had I gone to great lengths, failing instead.

Failure needs neither speech nor ears to hear

Only dreamscape statues to behold thus

What a stranger who bounces back from fear

Whistle and walk like a hero, nonplus.

Hold your breath through the canvas of the night

Confident the briny tears shall avail

I ponder words that bind some beings tight

Leaving indentations of sketchy trail.

There is no pleasure in low hanging fruit

Fondly praised are the wins in earned pursuit.

'Low Hanging Fruit'
Sami Khalil,
I find that the work, time, experience is appreciated in your submissions. This one no less!
The thing for me in life and people is each contact-dynamics is always different. Big surprise
right? Well as you navigated the layers of experience within your lines it caught me that at any given time people are hoping for many things from one another. Sometimes 'low hanging fruit' may actually be offered and then it is a gamble. Just leave it. It will simply rot on the vine. Terrific write.
Blessings as always,
Kathy

a quality write in a difficult style making it all that much more effective,
Altho' right on the edge of my simple simple mind's understandability, I fully agree that striving for whatever is more satisfying than having it handed to on a plate, altho' at my age I am fairly inclined to either pick that low fruit or look for a different tree
Have a jolly day

Wonderful write and read. Relationships have their ups and downs. Their failures and successes, but you have to put in effort to remain consistent or you'll end up as another victim.

With love,
