Emptiness at last

Emptiness at last

A Poem by Sami Khalil
"

Love fills in empty spaces; without it comes emptiness...

"

Emptiness at last                      by Sami Khalil

I bring it to cloture-

myself and I, in lockstep,

this madness of sundry battering,

of aggregated reasoning,

panned by critics through sieves,

reflecting storms, rolling through

pellucid waters.

From vintage points,

to my vantage ones,

beggars for love dwell,

unborn as the days

proffering handouts,

of spoken names, of frescoed faces.

I bring it to cloture-

netting all lives lost, notated and played back,

with debt incurred,

but I can’t close the spaces.

Emptiness at last!

Emptiness at last.

Loved the imagery in your poem, and the sentiment, sometimes it’s good to come home to emptiness and sometimes not. I think your poem shows this very well.

The lack of love sure creates a huge empty void, whereas its presence is totally fulfilling. Some great alliteration here Sami and some fine lines. It is always a pleasure calling on your work. Pleased I stopped by today to say hello.

"panned by critics through sieves," really like that line! .. all kinds of friends and enemies are quick to offer solutions from the outside .. panned/penned, cloture/closure .. brilliant says i .. strong alliterations pointing to very internal and personal spaces ... how we hash and re-hash the past .. such an incomparable repose that emptiness can be ... i believe the Buddha called it the "empty mind" ;) love your stuff Sami .. this one is a bit different .. very internal

Heaven on earth might have built by love, love might have colored numerous lives, love failures definitely might have left millions of empty spaces, in the context of empty spaces of ruining or breaking these lives where is the place for life goes on even with that emptiness. When a cool breeze comes, a beautiful rainbow shows at way far in distance after the pouring rain will the emptiness become smaller, failure of love is not the end nurturing self-love even if world put you to extreme is the core. Random thinking when I read poet Khalil's writing. Self-love should arise from the seeded love within this way humankind will resurrect from that emptiness left by lost love. Few bits of imagination when pondering about emptiness left by lost love. Lots of footing on real world Sami. Excellent work

Poet Sami, your poem got me thinking about how many times we focus in on loves lost and the emptiness they cause and the hollowness of despair.... but then, while there is love in the world today, I think emptiness and despair, lonely spaces, has grown stronger and larger... we humans are a lost people in search of compassion and the need to urgently fill that loneliness... Poet Sami, your words always allow us readers to look deeply and feel the connections we have with each other, thank you for this!!!
