MothersA Poem by Sami KhalilMothers by Sami Khalil While I burst on the scene, though momentous With a loud cry, grabbing hold of made life Bonding evoked awe and joys stupendous Carried by affable hands, nine moons in strife. Now, among men drifting from the orchard Finding oneself between past and future Losing not sight of her, moving forward This signpost of noble self and humor. You arise in my heart with steams, sans fogs Scented roses wafting through an apron Pots stirred in tow, needless of famed food logs Nourishing bodies and souls, whence partaken. Mothers! With keener sights, you are cherished Built on the brow of hills where ‘Time’ perished. © 2024 Sami KhalilReviews
