WinteringA Poem by Sami KhalilA prose poem...Wintering by Sami Khalil She would sit in the dim light, to undress the last vibes of the night; to improve her unflattering language skills. During the day, she painted what she saw, at face-value, clashing with colours, abrasive textures of humans. She sipped on finest teas, read Shakespeare with affectation, dragging herself into slow motions, vanishing into depths, no sonars can fathom. From a moving target, to a personal narrative, She eased herself into wintering. Her grit hushed the mystic wombs; the loud voices of the marginalized. Sudden gusts still rattle, on occasions, the screen door of her mind. © 2023 Sami KhalilReviews
