Face The DayA Poem by Sami KhalilFace The Day by Sami Khalil And yet, I dare to say, do face the day The jumble of events, the slow, long hour Starkly absent when courage fails its way For some cogitate through, others cower. Each day has gifts and glowing promises Consider the chains binding one’s freedom What can rant and railing do, mama says Love and pain are bedfellows in thralldom. Its safe to say, all have walked the lone road Where fears treaded the thrill of the journey Those who went before us carried their load Pull yourself up by your bootstraps, amply. It helps to have a quiet reflection For life’s a mélange of muscles’ flexion. © 2024 Sami KhalilReviews
