Hand-written Lines                by Sami Khalil

We grew in silence and by words of mouth

Poised potently with ravenous hunger

To eternally bind due north and south

Casting our cares in dismays asunder.

In that instance, we conjured wispy ghosts

Who raged fearless in our haunted house

No courses to follow, no drawn signposts

Lies lay scattered, somethings bound to espouse.

Until the glittering sun awakened

And the rising fog found solace and health

Chasing the wickedest hunt, while chastened

With a foreboding sense, tip-toeing death.

You wandered into my life wondering

That which echoes, are lonely minds pondering.

dear Sami... a haunted house with Ghosts is where most of us Live.
They linger in our minds as contrails of flights that failed.
The Wisdom gained will bring a new environment with a
Cathedral ceiling where Prayers will be answered in due Session.

This reads like a journey of love long gone that lives in the memories of those deceased. Love eternal they say! Nice sonnet Sami, you are going from strength to strength, excellent. I had a sonnet moment once but it passed.;)

when two lonely hearts meet...with a ravenous hunger...
they become fearless in their love for each others and definitely cast their cares in dismays asunder.
"Asunder" is such a good word...
I really like this poem...You write love poems so well, never overly sappy, just the real feel of what love might be when it's right.
