Fools rush in

Fools rush in

A Poem by Sami Khalil

Fools rush in                    by Sami Khalil

Faintly, I hear the measured breath of love

Looking through a one-sided mirror’s view

Ears open up to hear prattling thereof

For some lovers take on more they can chew.

Percipience clears up recondite things

-The quietude calls of the spurious-

Yet is better to have euphoric strings

Then not love any, drifting down curious.

All dormant things hold promises of doubt

While ones lost quell long-winded subterfuges

For rose-colored lenses, longings do sprout

At the tail-end, miscues teach best uses.

Step back, let past thoughts find due purposes

Outliving jousting shows and circuses.

Gracie millee my good ol friend for this powerful review.
Sometimes we all get caught up in the rush. I think we have all been fools once and from that comes experience. It’s never the fairytale! lol! Great words used Sami. Shakespeare would have liked this one.

nice one. you've used some great words - as well the subject matter mandates. ah, the intricacies of love. it is not an emotion of reason let alone patience. it follows where the heart leads without planning or preparation. a heartbeat can be long or short, pitter-patter, pitter-patter, plunk ... :)

Fools rush in ….
where angels fear to tread.

Wasn’t that the title of a song or a movie some time back in the past Sami?

On the matter of love there has been much jousting and circuses over the centuries. Nothing new there.

Then there’s that other old saying “all’s fair in love and war”.

Dear Sami, you are a master of sonnet’s and this one has carried me to many places and many scenarios. Beautifully penned.

For some lovers take on more they can chew

Love those lines, a golden wisdom, we need to be reminded. I wonder why kings and rich people has/have too many wives and mistresses? Is a person heart measure how much he earns? Is love that complicated or too fluid that we can love 2 or more person at a time? Well we don't know anymore, I guess...

Step back, let past thoughts find due purposes

Everything has its reason, why it is as it was. So we live to learn as they say...
As always you dive deep, bro..

dear Sami... to have a romantic Heart... throbbing over Oceans
reminds me of Jonathan Livingston Seagull ... a great Philosopher
who seemed to view the World above the turmoil and feel the
depths of emotion where Dolphins play and splash and even laugh...

moment when Love becomes tangible.... softly, Pat
