Less ground, more sky   by Sami Khalil

And when at night, while I was sleepless still

Before the moon took center stage backyard

Spellbound upon the hour… garnered a chill

I heard a loud knocking , baring my guard.

With curious, wide eyes and garish fears

Beheld a sight, cracking the door ajar

A bigger than life “Genie” with daft years

Stood tall, neither a specter nor a star.

He motioned me to come, noting the way

Mystic things came to view as we departed

To seven heavens and so in array

Parallel universes vastly charted.

We dallied and rode ditto precious waves

Past through blockholes, mimicking darkened caves.

I have bad luck Sami. My wishes would become a Monkey paw story. A sad ending. I liked the illusion you create. Thank you for sharing the amazing poetry.

Wowzy woooo. Thank you kindly sir Will for this amazing review and kind visit. All rich blessings.
Yes indeed, the poet through stellar, creative, imaginative wording, encouraging the reader to look beyond the confines of his/her enclosing four walls, constraining, weighing heavy on one's mind, yes, so much land oppressively occupied but look on high, the skies above, unbridled, offer freedom, fulfilment and opportunity, go for it, reach out and grasp that Genie's inviting hand.. dreams can and do dome true ..

The courage of deep self-reflection in the places we don’t want to look at but so much we need to, so through challenge, inner growth can progress and reflect a new enlightenment from the abyss

Wow! An honor indeed. Pleasure is mine.
Did you mean
"Genie"?
that is what I read---
This is so cool...getting a ride through those darkened caves previously unexplored...those parts of our lives we otherwise would never be in touch with...ever.
I would be spellbound as well.
