Bundled in contrast           by Sami Khalil

A bank of emotions and of hived minds

Whited out memories and ashy coals

Hammered with nails, boarded with daily grinds

Shrouded by stumbling thoughts, dejected goals.

From times of old to copious mazes

The crown is worn and the last breath taken

To crumbling strongholds nested in phrases

No sunlit faces grace, or felt akin.

Paradise lost and sunken ships once lost

Pretenses newly shared with excuses defined

Dials pointed in wrong directions will cost

The unbroken lies to self, do remind.

Forked are the roads ahead and of sharp tongue

Cogwheels spin in unison, audaciously flung.

Wowzy woooo! Thank you so much dear poet and friend for this wonderful review. I appreciate you.
Many paths are laid before us, our choices perhaps are not always the correct ones but we can find our way if that is what we are determined to do.
Really nice Sami, this has a deep old world feel to it.

dear Sami… your poem is written for ancient times and also for the times we are now experiencing. I sense a lot of metaphors you have penned. I admire your ability. Where does it all end… children lost and random evil. softly, Pat

Wow! All true and well said about the message. We can pray and voice our objections to all of that. .. read more
There are no guarantees on which path you choose although change can elevate your path for the better. It’s all about adapting and managing what you have. A philosophical sonnet here Sami.

Hehehe..........
The roads we take and the seas we sail are fraught with choice and wonder. Yet the ships are strong to face the wind the choice is often burdened. I so enjoyed this poem of yours my friend. With striking metaphors and a deeply wise message on the journey of life. CLE
