A sense of vastness

A sense of vastness

A Poem by Sami Khalil

A sense of vastness             by Sami Khalil

Wending my way, a sense of vastness peered

Calling me to ponder on things sightless

No end to wonders when awes be revered

Intricately woven of coined brightness.

We are but specks, flashing back to longing

Noteworthy enough with utmost relevance

All we see are surface sights beckoning

Past flick and flay are grace and ambience.

Spaces are not negated by sheer blindness

Nor lights muted umbral to deafened fears

Hapless the blind, the deaf and the likeness

Whose fables of yore reek through senseless tears.

Wending my way, reserved for further days

Profundities moored fore and aft my praise.

This sonnet is beautiful and very deep.... I could never write such a treasure Sam.you speak of blindness and of things we cannot see...and that we are mere longing specks...light is but flashing ....not constant in our lives....

Indeed, all we see are but surface sights. Some of these may seem awe inspiring, but they are nothing compared to things unseen

i really love this. how could one read this and not be moved/touched. your deep, beautiful words and imagery speak directly to the soul. this is very transcendental in which my muse thoreau subscribed. simply fabulous. i humbly bow to the king of the sonnet. shakespeare has nothing on you ... :)

We make ourselves to be bigger than what we are and equally important but in the scale of things we really are so insignificant in this vast universe. Another well written piece King Sami of Sonnets.

Sometimes I think that those who are blind and deaf, see more and hear more than those of us with those two senses working perfectly.

You sure know how to write these sonnets, Sami.....and it seems with ease.
