Free Yourselves     by Sami Khalil

An English Sonnet...

To be captives or not to be as slaves

Tis restless dragons with steely downsides

Dishonored toils, bearing freshly dug graves

A task master, soughing our great divides.

While existing is a must, living stands not

A crossbow of options with short arrows

Freedom is a harvest, bravely been wrought

Long live the free, sowing seedless fallows.

Let no one swindle you of fine treasure

We came to be, mighty force warriors

The rhythm of the sea, singing together

As one people, the chivalrous keepers.

To be free means to see the world below

Seeking justice for all, with gusto so.

Full of metaphor and vivid images this poem about freedom, justice and unity is powerful in its statements. Nicely done.
