AutumnA Poem by Sami KhalilReveries of a new season...Autumn by Sami Khalil Aswim
in my thoughts, dew-laden
through glass windows, doors
latching on times past, umbrage
enfolding with wider arms, I
drifted to welcome Autumn, encroaching
enclosed palisades, with
yearning aubades, with
breezes abrading lifeless
wood or burnished metal cages, of
arrayed cattle trades. Autumn!
Collage of colours, gifting
the weary trees, in
likeness of animation. Aswim,
holding on to dreary eyes, before
the year fades into oblivion, into
the vast ocean’s saturation, the
quilted meadows showed
off their regal durum and rye. Aswim
in my thoughts, fogs
of nostalgia crossed the
plains of my reveries, daubed
on a solemn face, across
the gilded shores of my emotions, curtains
of rain hurried to wash them over, for
the seasonal and the timeless have to await
their slotted times, while
we linger for a time and all time, delicately
entwined by clime. Aswim
in my thoughts, I
saw the blazed rays of amber verses, more
than adumbrated by the meager sun, the
pulled-up hearses. © 2022 Sami Khalil |
