Where Love Softly Lays    by Sami Khalil

My eyes caressed you tightly,

as my heart surrendered

to your feminine sway.

A dusty moon swept me

off of my feet,

while it controlled the tides

between us.

A sprightly kiss,

replete with higher arts,

patterned the tidy restitution,

within the subconscious realm.

I resolved to loving you,

towards that wayward, propitious love.

A distant, ancillary voice called mirthlessly:

“Don’t do it” …relatively speaking

turning into a vituperative attack.

With a cheeky grin, a faceless gaze, back sorely bent,

I replied: I will shiver alone in my bare longings;

Somethings are not meant to be comprehended,

especially where love softly lays.

I love your title and the poem itself is written perfectly. It's full of desire and romance, and I love the flow.
a natural habitat it seems
a perfect spot to pause and dream
while waterfowl and chirping birds
are company along the way
Love them lines!

::::::)))))))))))
Love is strange, I don't think it can be fully understood. There is no science to it. Sometimes we fall for the wrong people. Dear Sami, there is much passion in these words and that voice. That voice in your ear, and you listened. You listened and acted on it for a reason. Better to shiver alone than end up in the heat of hell with the wrong person :)

"the tides between us"...love that line.
I don't think I comprehend love all that well.
I spend enough time shivering alone...
this poem has a lot of passion within.
