A drowning Fish           by Sami Khalil

I choke on words,

eating my heart out for you;

infected, twisted, segmented-

hands dialing soundless grief.

I feel the jet lags of dreams;

starry ceilings collapsing

in suicidal implosions.

I carry a ring finger

upon heart gaping,

milieu-hinged painful vows,

wedged like absent moons

between jaws.

I choke on words,

stabbing my reality.

Things don’t add up;

scripts don’t fit

a drowning big fish.

I must gulp the swill,

before the great chill;

a forged conclusion.

Y’ all bring roses, incense

for I can’t recognize myself,

with porcelain features.

Did you mean jet lag?
This is such a sad one. Your metaphors are clever and allude to a sky that's now falling from grief. Poecelain features - wow! You're a great writer, Sami. 100/100
