A Poem by Sami Khalil
"

Multitude of things are affected by the weather.

"

Weather                         by Sami Khalil

Now that I’m older,

clambering out of bed,

I feel more the exasperation,

when skies of no shoring,

rain cats and dogs.

In the solace of the moment,

ripples on the water

seem like crystal balls,

across the quays as ships

disappear in the distance.

Strange how birds, in reverence,

Quiet their songs, refrain their whirring.

The weather might cooperate,

other times it does not.

Now that I’m older,

I see faces awash

in conceited needs.

Even flowers on graves need rain.

"conceited needs"
the older we get the more we realize the less we really need.
I love the last line....yes, even those flowers need rain to stay alive, but we don't need rain to keep alive the memory of those we have lost over the years.
nicely done, Sami,

dear Sami... now that I am older... I wither like a flower... if only for awhile. Life seems a pleasure as Spring emerges almost overnight, we have green buds on tree limbs and blossoms of promises . A poem that will linger into Summer. Take a break and enjoy the Weather. tenderly, Pat
