Re'sume'

Re'sume'

A Poem by Sami Khalil
"

We all look back and try to polish our re'sume's... This is not about a job. It is about taking account of life in general and our achievements

"

Re'sume'                     by Sami Khalil

In a binary scale, I weigh my re'sume';

Crossroads full of queries!

I hear neither the drum rolls

nor cymbals clashing for credentials.

I lumber still, bound by what was once;

the threads that bind.

Questions hold tombs of things,

stuck across timelines; outlines of passing seasons.

My re'sume' grasps its shining solitude;

Tearful pages of reading between the lines,

an innermost life without abbreviations.

Mainly, no logic running through

To cliff-hanger endings.

A sense of dread lingers, jaws trembling in shame,

no longer out of breath, chained to pieces of myself, ready for confessions.

My re'sume' keeps the birds away,

in their flight, in vignettes of stolen years,

passing through cumulous clouds.

I lumber still, bound by what was once

and, what will the journey hold...?

Life is sometimes sad and cruel, anyway, we pick up our pieces and still soar with hope… it’s the gift of life within that fights without giving up and feeds itself of small joys, dreaming for what the soul sights for …

'Resume'
Sami Khalil,
This was really refreshing. You showed a side of yourself written in poetic form. From a position of 'where you are now compared to where the past was the reality.' The thing that is so interesting is that our souls remember the past as is had not been and gone. A person's resume is so wonderful because we can bring it up any time and read it from the inside out. This was inspiring to me.
Thanks Sami,
Kathy

We never know where our journeys may take us even when their planned out, Sometimes things don’t go as we plan but we must push forth to get to that destination. The scars of life can be seen through our inner and outer depths. Though life experience may be challenging it can also give you a sense of who you truly are mentally, and as always keep writing fellow writer

dearest Sami… the Birds visit our feeding Deck as traveling Spirits coming to rest at our Bed and Breakfast… I have been on many Adventures .. searching for a Position… with Faith being my “calling card”. A Resume with references of several good performances… well orchestrated with Violins and cymbals with a soft Roll of Drums. You are a well-bound Book with experience and good results. We are Reflections of our Vocations. Always helping us understand better the Need for Diversity. Wishing you the Luck of the Irish ☘️. gently, Pat

A reflection on life's journey. And there you will find , the good, the acceptable and the cringe worthy :) We need to experience them all in our pursuit of happiness. We win some and we lose some. All part of life's rich tapestry Sami. Sending you all good wishes across the pond.
