Re'sume'

Re'sume'

A Poem by Sami Khalil
"

We all look back and try to polish our re'sume's... This is not about a job. It is about taking account of life in general and our achievements

"

Re'sume'                     by Sami Khalil

In a binary scale, I weigh my re'sume';

Crossroads full of queries!

I hear neither the drum rolls

nor cymbals clashing for credentials.

I lumber still, bound by what was once;

the threads that bind.

Questions hold tombs of things,

stuck across timelines; outlines of passing seasons.

My re'sume' grasps its shining solitude;

Tearful pages of reading between the lines,

an innermost life without abbreviations.

Mainly, no logic running through

To cliff-hanger endings.

A sense of dread lingers, jaws trembling in shame,

no longer out of breath, chained to pieces of myself, ready for confessions.

My re'sume' keeps the birds away,

in their flight, in vignettes of stolen years,

passing through cumulous clouds.

I lumber still, bound by what was once

and, what will the journey hold...?

JAVAJAVAYA! You are so kind and gracious. Glad to have you on this site.
I agree with your description note. The only way to spot a hard worker is to let him work and see what he's capable. Your poem was nicely written. I enjoyed the read. Tyfs

Any time you like. Thank you again.
where have we come from? where are we headed? where would we like to be? i've always hated them myself. like watching a tiresome rerun. they have no way of capturing the true essence of a person or their capabilities . they only speak of the past - i' did this and i did that. they have no way of predicting or measuring what someone "will" do or is capable of. i look at mine and sometimes puff out my chest with a sense of accomplishment and other times i think, big deal, so what, what am i doing now, where am i headed? love the last verse. very clever, insightful and thought-provoking ... :)

From time to another will be there, bringing our past, our experiences to the table. a link, a pattern may revealed and help us to go through our life with more wisdom. I find your title capturing enough. all what I can say that enjoy the ride of what's coming dear Sami, fear nothing, what is logical to others might be not logical to You, there is nothing wrong with that. each one of us is unique in their own ways. all the best my friend :>

I too wish a resume gets a score between the strict 0 and 1 for those unspoken care, hardest nights and sighs behind the doors.

dearest Sami... we must be Bold to hold the Future in the Palm of our Hand. We will find our Niche where Wisdom lies and Destiny will be our Fame. Many Prophets have predicted the Path most taken... however the Byways are often taken like the Poetry of Robert Frost... "The Road LeastTaken"... where-in we find the Brightest Star to Guide our Way. tenderly, Pat
