Re'sume'A Poem by Sami KhalilWe all look back and try to polish our re'sume's... This is not about a job. It is about taking account of life in general and our achievementsRe'sume' by Sami Khalil In a binary scale, I weigh my re'sume'; Crossroads full of queries! I hear neither the drum rolls nor cymbals clashing for credentials. I lumber still, bound by what was once; the threads that bind. Questions hold tombs of things, stuck across timelines; outlines of passing seasons. My re'sume' grasps its shining solitude; Tearful pages of reading between the lines, an innermost life without abbreviations. Mainly, no logic running through To cliff-hanger endings. A sense of dread lingers, jaws trembling in shame, no longer out of breath, chained to pieces of myself, ready for confessions. My re'sume' keeps the birds away, in their flight, in vignettes of stolen years, passing through cumulous clouds. I lumber still, bound by what was once and, what will the journey hold...?
