Holidays                         by Sami Khalil

Be of good cheers…

To tug at the spirit, my soul doth yearn

To vanish dark despair and live in peace

Seekers of light that shines where longings churn

Where voices intone songs of love’s release.

Holidays are rimmed with vivid embers

Leisurely sparking flames till dawn’s first gleam

Shall not tomorrow’s hope break chain’s vendors

Where mercy’s given to venturing dream.

How gracious thou art God in jeweled crown

Thereon we bow and bend the knees in praise

Over hills and hollows, the wondrous town

Cheers rise where eyes behold beauty’s said ways.

To tug at the spirit, my soul doth yearn

A bright future awaits those who discern.

An excellent write that reflects the best of the coming holiday season my friend. I hope this time of year will bring more kindness and love among people instead of the dark tidings the recent past has brought. As always I marvel at your artful style my friend. Thank you Sami and I wish you a wonderful holiday season as well.
