Noah's Bed and Breakfast

Noah's Bed and Breakfast

A Poem by Sami Khalil

Noah'S Ark paintings

Noah’s Bread and Breakfast

                                    by Sami Khalil

In the days of Noah, feral and pet

Pervaded an Arc…fared seaworthy

A flappable bed and breakfast were set

As a raven sent forth, most trustworthy.

It begat the questions whence it landed

Burdened by floods and people’s vainglory

Death ushered with terror; dwellers stranded

Faithless, sneering at Noah’s oratory.

Thus, the wrath of God befell the banished

In their contorted truths and savvy stealth

In darkness cloaked, missing the boat, vanished

Neither hapless calls heard nor sheltered wealth.

In the days of Noah, feral and pet

Some survived the tailored invite’s bet.

As a raven sent forth, most trustworthy.

Love this line a lot.. A Raven usually quoted as a Black vibrant bird that is wicked in many tales...
But I love the line because of it's trustworthy nature,

dear Sami… we are preparing a Bed and Breakfast for all the Immigrants “Flooding” into our Country. Will there be a “safety net”. Will there be a Rainbow. We must Trust and listen to God… not necessarily an appointed Leader who hopefully is Praying to God as well.

Have a great weekend.................
Missing the boat. That's brilliant! I've got to give that idea to Norm, my 90-year-old poet-buddy near London. He's always writing biblical satire & that common-but-genius phrase will give him something to chew on. I'm not that biblical myself, but as a rhyming fool, I can't help but to bow down & kiss your feet for such sophisticated rhymes! Happy Thanksgiving! (((HUGS)))

Very good write, Sami. Biblical stories....who knows who wrote them and if they were true, but they have lasted hundreds of years. Yup, if they missed the boat, they would be extinct. Did we ever hear of Noah having a female companion? Hmmm...something to think about! Lydi** PS...that graphic would be perfect in a child's room!

The way oceans are rising now, we might get another massive flood especially at the coastal cities .
You can tell Noah was vegetarian I mean all those animals on board, it's a smorgasbord of good meats. Or did he eat the unicorns. Jokes aside a good write Sami.

In today's economy, if that Bed and Breakfast floated again, I wonder if all those animals could have afforded to board, well maybe if breakfast weren't included.
I think we need another flood and another start-over.
this is like an excellent parable.
