See Me Eye to Eye            by Sami Khalil

Romance…

See me eye to eye or run for shelter.

The keys are in the lock,

To unlock our passions, to enter.

Believing or doubting are two opposites... to the center.

Skies of long-ago finding wings in simple flights, greater!

See me eye to eye or run for shelter.

Triumphs over failures, over despairs are the unspoken, hot smelter.

Let us capitalize on our gifts; galaxies circling nothingness in equal portions, reverse motions of wonder.

“Ying” and the “yang”, the “yay” and the “nay” are not but affirmations of inner workings, of building blocks, of mirrors and reflections, stranger…needing sunnier skies to take shape, better coaches to learn through, soaring strengths to higher horizon branching, desiring love for quiet answers, perfect timing for harmony, beating hearts to surrender.

See me eye to eye, in a mad rush, adrift shorter, longer.

An eagle soaring higher and higher, bereft of skies, for odds and ends remain bluer.

I wish I could think up a line like your first line . . . startlingly fresh, memorable, like the kind of line that sticks in your head after hearing it in a song. I love it when a writer uses repetition judiciously & this poem is a testimony to that. You use the first line twice, then once more a little different. That's how repetition is done, in my opinion! It's like the ribbon going along several sides of a package, holding everything together (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

love the rhyme and near rhyme in this...makes for a nice flow and a constant reminder within the piece of how important eye contact is...if a person is unable to talk to us, whisper sweet nothings without serious eye contact, then something is amiss....the love is not true or truthful...
I have always felt the most important physical feature of a lover is the eyes...
just to get lost in them...when they are honest....then cupid hits the bulls-eye, so to speak.

I liked the scattered rhyme in this one, Sami. People can be very different and still be drawn to one another. I suppose opposites do attract as they say. Desire and a build up of passion in here. I liked it. Lydi**
