See Me Eye to Eye            by Sami Khalil

Romance…

See me eye to eye or run for shelter.

The keys are in the lock,

To unlock our passions, to enter.

Believing or doubting are two opposites... to the center.

Skies of long-ago finding wings in simple flights, greater!

See me eye to eye or run for shelter.

Triumphs over failures, over despairs are the unspoken, hot smelter.

Let us capitalize on our gifts; galaxies circling nothingness in equal portions, reverse motions of wonder.

“Ying” and the “yang”, the “yay” and the “nay” are not but affirmations of inner workings, of building blocks, of mirrors and reflections, stranger…needing sunnier skies to take shape, better coaches to learn through, soaring strengths to higher horizon branching, desiring love for quiet answers, perfect timing for harmony, beating hearts to surrender.

See me eye to eye, in a mad rush, adrift shorter, longer.

An eagle soaring higher and higher, bereft of skies, for odds and ends remain bluer.

aint that true! Nothing in this world cannot work without one or the other. I believe in both polarity and duality that within a duality there is a polarity on each & vice versa. There's up & down, above & below, left & right, wrong & right lol! -- This resonates with myself and my beloved. We're both so opposite, 11 years difference, culturally different, some many other different things, live in two different countries lol but we make do. If we both don't have each 50 of 50 to maintain in regards to similarities and difference I think it will not last or that if one is 60 then the other still has to make it work to 50 but alas, where am I even going with this is -- awesomely penned Sami! :)

Great piece, Sami. I love the imagery of this particular work - no relationship can truly survive without a deep understanding of one another. Even if two people are opposites, it does not necessarily mean they are a poor or incompatible match; instead, they can complete one another. Keep up the great work!

See me eye to eye or run for shelter.

I felt that this was life with all its wonder and its workings talking to me. The subtle rhyming just enhanced the entire effect. This is such a thinking, speaking poem. Great poetry!

Same here. Gracie Mille...
two must be equal in order to add up to one. must meet each other where they are. doors can't be unlocked unless both turn they key. everything under creation fits perfectly together when left as intended. strengths and weaknesses in all but complimentary. man has a tendency to interfere in the natural order with a heavy hand. if only we could just let things be - possibilities are endless. good free-flowing write both literally and figuratively ... :)

dearest Sami.. life does get sweeter as the eyes
see deeper... into the passion of flowers appearing
when sunshine and rain linger. Roses bloom and forgetmenots spread
over past regrets. Spring can be a new beginning in a poem never ending.
