Erase

Erase

A Poem by Sami Khalil

An old poem of mine I found and forgot to post.

"

    {Erase} By Sami Khalil

Individuals and nations can be condemned or praised due to their actions, past and present. A free and just nation is paramount.

For many a time, and times of much gentle regards

Of said nations upon rummage and bells of mourn

And let this oddity shudder at sacred flames’ sight

The ruins of which curdle feelings of set forth scorn.

Yet this prejudice of time wrought to worldly avail

When heaps upon woodland graves haplessly yield

And moldering bodies in silent neglect to bevy decay

At the coming of light, crowned hills as far as afield.

Erase, erase their sire resurrected from presence high

Forth to eternity where trials kept in keepsake scrolls

Erase, erase the winding of time and stagger of death

Encumbering subtle fevers to be in grave ward holes.

For many a time, and times of much gentle regards

Of said man upon our rummage and bells of mourn.

A real diatribe on the state of politics and nation-making now. Solid write.

::::::;)))))))))))))))))
war erases lives, it's that simple...and yet that complex...why? why do we have leaders that continue to start wars...they are not deity...a generous god will keep his people safe...nations mourn the dead and then create more...
when will it stop?
a thoughtful, crucial write, Sami,
