Rarest Rose…Sami Khalil

Rarest Rose…Sundrenched and beautiful!

We belong together.

Together in the sanctuary of love, in the ballet of dance and flight of fancy, to full scale reflections on mystery;

When intuitions call the mind

When lumber kisses raging fires

When corralled prisoners are freed

When new beginnings of pain and pleasure

are served raw with a knife

and time is held hostage to pendulum swings.

Rarest Rose…Rain-washed and thirsty!

We belong forever.

This heart ride ought to be traveled in unison,

in infinite possibilities of spinning wheels,

accepting each other’s journey with soothing

pleasantries under moonlit paths.

Meaningful words should not be sullied

where conjured words live in dark corners becoming shadows of upheavals.

Yet, I await…In riotous protest, in vanquished pleas, in sweet madness, in tumbleweed moments for you, knowing everything has timing in the Big Clock, new beginnings in the great scheme, and peace when dueling is over.

Rarest Rose…Once upon a valentine, You were mine.

Has the Rarest Rose died? Some lovely language here, the first verse flowed like a montage. Exquisite phrases "riotous protests" "soothing pleasantries"
Desperate longing in the last few lines

I have to use your word Sami... "WOW"!!!! and another quote came to mind: “What's in a name? that which we call a rose By any other name would smell as sweet.” ― William Shakespeare.... your poem Sami, sweet as a rose and even if a Valentine that once was, still has the aroma of love...

for the longest time, I kept the Carnation boutonierr pressed between to pages of our photo album... funny thing when it finally fell apart years later, there was still a slight aroma to the dried petals...

anyway, Sami, I think this is one of the very best poems I have read from you.... thank you...

Interesting poem presenting the contrasts of beauty and violence together, especially in verse 1. Liked the thought that everything has timing in the "Big Clock." An unusual and well wrought Valentine piece.
